Scope of This Policy
Our privacy practices described here apply to information we collect through leapcreditapp.com, its request form, and emails, texts or calls we send about a request. It does not cover the websites or practices of lenders and partners, which have their own privacy policies.
By using the site or submitting a request, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with them, please do not submit the request form. When a lender or partner receives your information, its own privacy notice governs how it handles that information from then on, so we encourage you to read it before accepting any offer.
Information We Collect
We collect information you give us on the request form, information collected automatically when you use the site, and limited information from service providers that help us verify requests and prevent fraud.
Information you provide. When you fill out a leap credit loan request, you may give us:
- Name, date of birth, home address, email address and phone number
- Requested loan amount and loan purpose
- Employment status, income source, income amount and pay frequency
- Housing status and time at your address
- Social Security number, driver's license or state ID number
- Bank account and routing numbers for deposits
- Any message you send us through email, phone or mail
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time spent on pages, approximate location derived from your IP address, and whether you started or completed the form.
Information from other sources. Service providers may supply data that helps us confirm your identity, check that a phone number or address is valid, or detect fraudulent requests.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, pixels and similar tools to keep the site working, remember your progress on the form, measure traffic, and understand which pages and advertisements bring visitors to us. Some of these tools are provided by analytics and advertising partners.
You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. If you block all cookies, parts of the request form may not work properly. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting; because there is no common industry standard for responding to it, the site does not currently respond to that signal, although we honor opt-out preference signals where state law requires.
How We Use Information
We use your information to run the request service, share your request with lenders and partners, communicate with you, protect against fraud, comply with law, and improve the site.
Specifically, we may use information to:
- Process your request and pass it to lenders and lending partners who may make an offer
- Verify your identity and the accuracy of what you entered
- Contact you by phone, text or email about your request and related offers
- Send marketing messages about our service where permitted, which you can stop at any time
- Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents
- Analyze site performance and improve our pages and form
- Meet legal, regulatory and recordkeeping obligations, and enforce our terms of use
How We Share Information
When you submit a request, we share the information you provide with lenders and lending partners in our network so they can evaluate it and decide whether to make an offer. That sharing is the purpose of the service.
Lenders and partners in our network. A partner may be a lender or a lending network that passes your request to its own lenders. Those companies may contact you, check your credit, verify your information and keep it under their own privacy policies. The way we are compensated by those partners is explained in our advertiser disclosure.
Service providers. We use companies that host the site, store data, send emails and texts, provide analytics, verify identity and help prevent fraud. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we believe it is required by law, subpoena or court order, to respond to a regulator, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, our partners or the public.
Business transfers. If our business is sold, merged or reorganized, information may be transferred to the new owner, which will remain bound by this policy for information collected before the change.
We do not share your request with unrelated companies for their own marketing without telling you first.
Your Choices
You can stop marketing messages, ask lenders to stop contacting you, and request access to or deletion of the information we hold about you. Some choices are handled by us and others must be made directly with a lender.
- Email marketing. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email from us.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any text we send.
- Calls. Ask the caller to place you on its internal do-not-call list.
- Lender contact. Contact each lender directly, because lenders that received your request manage their own contact lists.
- Access and deletion. Email us to ask what information we hold about you or to request that we delete it. We will verify your identity before acting and may keep information we are legally required to retain.
State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights over your personal information, such as the right to know, access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of certain sharing, targeted advertising or sale.
Some financial information is covered by federal privacy law rather than state law, so certain rights may not apply to every piece of data. To exercise any right available to you, email us and describe your request. We will respond within the time your state law requires, will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and will tell you if we cannot complete a request and why. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where state law allows, with proof of authority.
How We Protect Information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections for the request form and access limits for our staff and service providers.
No website or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission. Please protect your own devices and accounts, avoid submitting the form on shared computers, and never send full account or Social Security numbers by email.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by type of information.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it so it can no longer reasonably be linked to you. Information already shared with lenders is kept by those lenders under their own retention policies.
Children's Privacy
Our site and request form are intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their state. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our partners or the law. When we do, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page.
If a change materially affects how we use or share information we already hold, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before the change applies. Your continued use of the site after an update means the revised policy applies.
Contact Us About Privacy
Send privacy questions and requests to us by email, phone or mail using the details on our contact page. Please include the email address or phone number you used on the request form so we can locate your records.
For questions about how a lender handles your information, contact that lender directly. You can read more about what we do and do not do on our about page.
